We finished! My friend hasn’t done an event for over 3 years – She was undergoing breast cancer treatment just before I started my own cancer treatment – We didn’t rock the world with breaking times, but we had such fun participating…Most importantly, she is remotivated to train so that we can do more events in the future!!! ~One cancer patient (turned athlete) inspiring another
Thank you so much for getting me to the finish line and believing I could still get there despite some late training setbacks! I nailed the nutrition- my stomach gets the MVP award! 🙂 So thank you thank you thank you for all you did to get me here, believing in me and encouraging me! It was an amazing experience. Thank you for making it possible. ~First time Ironman athlete rising above many chronic injuries to get healthy
Here is a true testament to ‘Anything is Possible’ if you set your heart and mind to it! From a broken foot to a crash 5 days before the race resulting in stitches in her face and bruises all over her body (all in the last 6 months), Christina not only rose above adversity, she crushed Ironman Lake Placid! That is one well deserved smile, Christina!

What a busy but successful weekend! We had athletes racing across the country in three different Ironmans – Vineman, IM Canada and IM Lake Placid! With several first timers, as well as several veterans racing, Ironman still proves to be the ultimate test since you never know what you will be handed (weather, bears, etc). Congratulations to everyone that raced. You have made your coach proud!
