There is no really way I can sit here and write an email thanking you without it feeling a bit hollow or that it somehow falls short. There really is no appropriate way to impart the heartfelt gratitude I have for you being there for me over the last six months. Its meant everything to me, and it is certainly what helped me get to the finish line on Sunday…You being there and listening to my banter means the world to me AJ. You are an extraordinary individual, coach, and friend. I’m lucky to have had your guidance over the last couple of years. ~ Sub 3 hour Boston Marathoner, multiple Ironman and loving husband (and soon-to-be father)
We finished! My friend hasn’t done an event for over 3 years – She was undergoing breast cancer treatment just before I started my own cancer treatment – We didn’t rock the world with breaking times, but we had such fun participating…Most importantly, she is remotivated to train so that we can do more events in the future!!! ~One cancer patient (turned athlete) inspiring another
Thank you so much for getting me to the finish line and believing I could still get there despite some late training setbacks! I nailed the nutrition- my stomach gets the MVP award! 🙂 So thank you thank you thank you for all you did to get me here, believing in me and encouraging me! It was an amazing experience. Thank you for making it possible. ~First time Ironman athlete rising above many chronic injuries to get healthy
‘You are an Ironman of life!’ ~ Anything is Impossible Kona Finisher, Brain Cancer Survivor, Brain Cancer Advocate, Founder of Team BT
‘I think I have the best job of anyone I know. Except maybe you. You change peoples lives. Help them make better choices. Be the best person they can be. That’s a powerful role.’ ~Corporate Executive saving the Earth, World Traveler, Father of two
‘I just celebrated one year cancer free and I honestly can tell you, that I would not have made it through the year without you. Dreaming of (let alone, training for) two half iron distances and two marathons was what kept hope in my heart despite a lot of medical and emotional setbacks – but each morning, I looked forward to seeing what you had planned for my day. You taught me to set goals other than “time goals” which is something that I have shared with others heading into a new race or adventure. I have also learned that training well does not mean always going “faster and longer” every time. But above all, I learned that when you have someone in your corner, you keep running even when you are weary! Thank you for teaching me these important life lessons!!’
‘AJ is, quite simply, the best. Not only did she prepare me physically with her training, getting me to the podium at my first half Ironman, but she prepared me mentally and emotionally, supporting and encouraging me every step of the way. She is more than a coach–she helped me with every little aspect of being a triathlete, both on race day and in life, and, above all, made me believe in myself. I am a stronger person and triathlete because of her. Wherever you are at–beginner, intermediate, or elite–AJ will meet you there and take you wherever it is you want to go!’ ~Kona qualified triathlete, law school graduate and newly engaged
